KISTERS acquires Hydrological Services Ltd Sydney

Sydney/Aachen, January 2015: The acquisition of Hydrological Services Ltd (HS) by KISTERS Group became effective from 01.01.2015. HS is now part of the KISTERS group, but maintains its separate identity and function.

KISTERS further expands its product portfolio by integrating the newly acquired HS into the global KISTERS Group. HS measurement devices and sensors are perfect add-ons to the existing KISTERS product range. Together the companies offer a full-range product portfolio for environmental monitoring from the sensor via communication through to software solutions for water resources management. In addition, the acquisition of HS will help to develop new smart sensor systems which can easily be connected to different data collection platforms, including cloud technology. The solutions are well-suited for water authorities, environmental authorities and irrigation districts as well as industrial enterprises.

Close cooperation and proven integration
HS main area of expertise includes measurement equipment and accessories for water cycle management and monitoring. Since 2008, iQuest and HS have worked in close collaboration. A number of iQuest and KISTERS clients are already using HS products, and a close integration with the IRIS data logger from iQuest and the KISTERS water solutions (Hydstra and WISKI) has already been achieved.

Hydrological Services continues to offer high quality products, designed and built to withstand all extremes in climate conditions, for applications in meteorology, water level control, water flow control, data logging, and sedimentation, etc. HS also offers expertise in services like calibration, hydrographic training, and product training. The company has maintained quality certification for ISO 9001:2000.

The current HS staff of 19 people located in Sydney will stay on board and Joe Caruana remains as the General Manager of HS. Joe Caruana stated: "I believe the acquisition by the KISTERS Group will expand the opportunity for our products and services in Australia, New Zealand and globally."
